Stephen Shea, West End’s new IDPA director, held his first match on Easter Sunday. Over 40 shooters skipped their Easter egg hunt to try their hand at his 5 IDPA stages.
The shooting squads were all very enthusiastic at the varied stages West End provided to test their skills. Stephen was also somehow able to provide them with some exceptional weather to show off our range at its best.

For those of you who have never shot at an IDPA match, the IDPA is defined as:
“IDPA as a sport is quite simply the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios. Shooters competing in IDPA events are required to use practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense use. No “competition only” equipment is permitted in IDPA matches since the main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual, not his equipment or gamesmanship”
This makes IDPA the ideal event for CCW holders to practice with their every day carry side arm.
IDPA is a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. It was founded in 1996 as a response to the desires of shooters worldwide.
