July 2019 NRL 22 Regional Match - AAR and Scores Added
« on: July 12, 2019, 06:13:57 PM »
Hello fellow Rimfire shooters of the southwest region. We are excited to be hosting the regional NRL22 match for the southwest region. The match will take place on Sunday July 21, 2019 at West End Gun Club. Cost for competing in the match is $40.

You do NOT need to be an NRL member or a WEGC member to participate. Your fees will cover range fees to our club, a sandwich lunch, and trophies.

PLEASE CHECK SPAM FOLDERS FOR PRACTISCORE EMAILS BEFORE SENDING US AN EMAIL OR MESSAGE SAYING YOU NEVER GOT IT. There will be no refunds issued as once you have paid we will order lunch and trophies.

Range Rules
(IMPORTANT, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE AND ACCOUNTABLE FOR KNOWING THEM!!!)
WEGC is a cold range
Keep driving speed down to 15 mph on the road to the entry gate, and 5 mph on the range. This is for everyone's safety, enforcement may lead to violators being asked to go home without shooting the match.
All non-member competitors and guests must sign a waiver to be on range property or to shoot
No steel core ammo (not a problem with 22, but I have to mention it anyway).
-
Schedule:
Sunday July 21, 2019
7:00am gate opens and sign in
Set up targets (everyone will need to pitch in)
7:00am zero and dope gathering
8:00am match starts
12:00pm sandwich lunch
3:00pm match expected end time
After completion of match, awards ceremony
-
We are planning up to 8 stages of fun for everyone. We don’t have a solid round count yet but i think we can all agree that 22 is cheap and shooting is fun so expect to need at least 100rds for the match portion (not including zeroing).

We ran 18 shooters, and ran 9 stages, starting with 5 stages from the NRL 22 monthly match, then an additional 4 stages that Scott developed. All shooting was from the old 200Y line, and we finished up around 3:00pm. I'll post everybody together, and NRL shooters only. NRL shooters qualify for a monthly drawing and points towards competing in the championship match at the end of the year.

The match scores show 10 stages overall and 6 stages for the NRL, that is because we scored the paper on it's own stage to make scoring easier.

NRL Stages:
All paper NRL scored as follows:
3” nrl22 paper targets at 40 yards.
Points: 10 points per steel target hit, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 points

Stage barricade #1:
“but you ain’t got no legs lieutenant dan”
Ranges and targets: 75 yards with 2, 2” steel targets on a double hanger and
on the 3” nrl22 paper target for 100 points possible
Equipment: 1 bag the size of a volley ball or smaller.

Start position: standing behind the tank trap rifle at port arms, magazine in and bolt back. Description: upon the start signal, shooter will take a position on the bottom left leg of the tank trap and engage each of the 75 yard targets with 1 round. Then engage the left 3” paper target at 40 yards with 1 round. Repeat this for the right leg but fire at the right paper target. Then the shooter will move to the center of the tank trap and engage each 2” target at 75 yards with 2 rounds each.

Stage Barricade 2, Bucket List
120S, 10 rounds. Need 2 gallon and 5 gallon plastic buttons for props.
4" steel at 100Y, 1.5" at 50Y, Paper at 40Y
10 points per steel, score paper per scoring rings.
Start with rifle resting on the small bucket, mag in bolt back. Upon start signal engage left paper with 1 shot, 1.5" 50Y target with 2 shots, 4" 100Y target with 2 shots. Then retrieve 5 gallon bucket, and using that bucket for support at the same location as the first, repeat but shoot at right paper instead.

Stage Prone 1, "United States Of America, Back To Back World War Champs"
120s, 10 rounds
KYL rack 25 yards with 1", .75", .5", .25" targets, and NRL22 paper at 25 yards
10 points per steel hit, score per paper rings
1 bag only for support
Start prone, mag in, bolt back. Upon start signal, shoot KYL large to small, hit or miss, then left paper 1 shot.
Shoot KYL rack small to large, must hit to move on. If no misses then shoot right paper at 40Y.

Stage Prone 2 "Here's To Celebrating 243 Years Of Freedom!"
120s, 10 rounds.
100Y 3" target, 90Y 3" target, 75Y 2.5" target, 50Y 1" target, 3" NRL paper at 40Y. 10 points per steel, paper per scoring rings.
Start mag in, bolt back. Upon start signal engage steel far to near 1 round per target, then left paper 1 shot. Then near to far 1 round per target and paper 1 shot.

Stage Positional 1 "Kneeling Is For Shooting NRL 22, Not For Our Flag. Sitting Is For Watching Fireworks and NRL 22!"
120s, 10 rounds. 5" steel at 60Y, NRL 22 paper at 40Y
Start kneeling, unsupporting, sling is the only accessory allowed. Upon start signal, engage 5" plate with 4 rounds, then left paper 1 round. Then switch to sitting, 5" steel with 4 rounds and right paper 1 round.
