Clay pigeons usage and clean up
« on: July 20, 2020, 10:05:28 AM »
I read through the range rules but couldn’t see if clay pigeons are allowed to be shot in private bays. If one shoots 100 clays what level of clean up is required?

I do see clays are prohibited  or restricted On the main range but I see them used frequently laid out on the berm behind the 100 yard line. Most often after they are shot the pigeons are not raked up.

Does anyone know the “official”  policy on clays?

as of today:

1. NO CLAYS ON MAIN RANGE (VERY SPECIFICALLY FLYING TARGETS)

2. NO CLAYS ON RIMFIRE RANGE

3. ALL MEMBERS MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES (this includes clays)

4. NO OFFICIAL STATEMENT TO PROHIBIT IN OTHER AREAS

Problems noted:
a. lack of enforcement, including self-enforcement
b. lack of signage, lack of understanding, lack of compliance

Clays(debris) present a clean-up challenge for everyone. The club must work to find better answers and guidance in the near future. Managing it is not as easy as it is for brass. (and we still have that issue to conquer)
