“Nightclub” is designed specifically for shooters who enjoy competing and like the challenge of shooting steel. We welcome experienced shooters and new shooters who are interested in participating in the sport.
Equipment
While this sport is best enjoyed using a semi automatic handgun, you are always welcome to shoot a pistol caliber carbine.
Most experienced competitors shoot a semi automatic 9mm handgun with a light and optic, but lights and optics are not required. You can use any handgun chambered in a standard handgun cartridge. .380, 9mm, 40, 45, and 22LR.
Gear and Accessories
For this match you will want to have a sturdy gun belt, a OWB, IWB, OR AIWB holster (serpa not recommended), at least 2 magazine pouches, your gun, at least 2 magazines, and some gloves (not required) for resetting the steel.
Course of Fire Examples
This match is designed to make the shooter a more proficient and confident shooter with the various COF’s (Course of Fire). We typically shoot at steel targets and score by Impact only. If you miss, no call is provided, and no help is provided. The competitor is responsible for spotting their own shots and correcting their misses. Typical Courses Of Fire include 15-20 steel targets multiple shooting positions, shooting on the move, and you can expect to see a Texas star at each match.
Schedule
We shoot on the 3rd Thursday of the month and check in begins at 5:30pm and we begin at 6:00pm at bay 8. Our normal target engagements range anywhere from 15 to 50 yards and the match usually concludes between 8:00 and 9:00pm.
Cost
Cost is $20.00 per entry and 120+ rounds is the average round count and there are usually 4 stages.
Safety
Safety is paramount at West End Gun Club, all club safety rules will be recognized and enforced as well as any other safe firearms procedure rules. Please bring a chamber flag if you are shooting a rifle.

A match DQ will result if any person, even yourself, is swept by the muzzle, at any time. Or by an ND. Safety is number 1, competition and fun are a distant second. If you are a new shooter please let the match director know and we can help you shoot the match safely.
