West End Gun Club is hiring! We are seeking qualified applicants for both Range Safety Officer (RSO) and Range Maintenance Worker. All applicants should posses ability to get to work via 1 mile of dirt road, may need high clearance vehicle. Range Safety Officer (RSO),
As a Range Safety Officer (RSO), responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient
shooting range environment by enforcing safety rules, instructing users, and
responding to emergencies, while maintaining a professional and courteous
demeanor.
Applicant should Posses ability to get to (transport) to work via 1 mile of dirt road,
may need high clearance vehicle. This is a part time position and would be on weekends Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Responsibilities
- Enforce Safety Rules:
Strictly adhere to and enforce all range safety rules and standard operating
procedures (SOPs). - Supervise and Direct:
Supervise and direct range activities, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all users. - Instruct and Educate:
Provide instruction and training on firearm safety, handling, and range procedures to customers. - Customer Service:
Act as an ambassador for the range, providing excellent customer service and
addressing customer questions and concerns. - Emergency Response:
Control the range and lead or assist with any emergency procedures, including
reporting incidents and completing necessary reports. - Range Operations:
Conduct range opening and closing inspections and procedures, assist with
equipment checkout and return, and maintain a clean and organized range. - Incident Reporting:
Advise the Range Marshal of any mechanical or facility issues, or any issues or
discrepancies that occur on the range. - Facility Security:
Assist in facility security by monitoring attendance and ensuring that only authorized personnel are in the range areas. - Maintain Professional Appearance and Conduct:
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, representing the range in a positive manner. Other Duties as Assigned:
Perform other duties as assigned by management, including assisting with range
maintenance and upkeep.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Firearms and Safety:
Possess a strong understanding of firearms, ammunition, and shooting safety
regulations. - Safe Firearms Handling:
Demonstrate proficiency in safe firearms handling and operation. - Communication Skills:
Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with customers and staff. - Customer Service Skills:
Possess excellent customer service skills to provide a positive and safe experience
for all range users. - Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to identify and resolve potential safety issues or problems that may arise on
the range. - Physical Fitness:
Ability to stand, sit, reach, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time. - Certifications:
Possession of relevant certifications such as NRA Range Safety Officer, NRA
Marksmanship Instructor, or similar certifications may be required. - Experience:
Experience in firearms handling, shooting sports, or related fields may be preferred.
Range Maintenance Worker,
This is a part- time position. It will normally be Monday-Thursday with a possibility of some weekend work.
Role
- Maintain the functionality and condition of an out door sports area.
- Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, such as painting, landscaping, and basic grounds upkeep.
- Schedule repairs and maintain inventory.
- Follow preventative maintenance procedures
Responsibilities
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Install equipment and appliances.
- Follow local and state building codes.
- Comply with company safety regulations.
- Keep a maintenance log and write work reports.
- Respond to repair and maintenance requests.
- Use equipment, including power tools, hand tools, and operate wheeled & tracked equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent level of knowledge.
- Experience with construction and basic carpentry.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work autonomously and responsibly.
Physical Requirements
- Climb ladders.
- Stand/walk for long periods.
- Lift as much as 50 pounds at a time.
- Frequent stretching and/or bending to access equipment.
- Experience with hand tools.
- Perform inspections of equipment.
- Respond to maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain records and logs.
- Monitor equipment operations.
- Communicate with coworkers, vendors, and contractors.
