Scouting Clays Shoot Out is an annual fundraiser held at Mike Raahauge Shooting Enterprises.
West End Gun Club was proud to field a strong team again this year: Ethan Carroll, Hal Evans, Ron Carroll, and Lorin Neeley.
This event supports Scouting programs, and WEGC was happy to help sponsor it once more.
Our squad shot through the full course of Sporting Clays, 100 targets total, and delivered a much-improved team score of 316. That’s a solid jump from last year and kept us competitive with the top teams.
Here are our individual scorecards with some standout highlights from the day:
Ron Carroll – 83
Ron had a very consistent round, including a perfect 8 on Station C (True Pair) and strong 7s on several other stations.
Hal Evans – 72
Hal posted some excellent stations including an 8 on Station F and a 7 on Station C. He pushed through a couple of tougher ones.
Lorin Neeley – 74
Lorin turned in a solid performance with an 8 on Station F and a 7 on Station C, along with some good later stations.
Ethan Carroll – 87
Ethan shot an 87 with multiple 8s, including on Stations A and C.
Team Total: 316
San Bernardino Sheriff’s Trap & Skeet Club swept the podium, taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall. Excellent shooting by their teams!
We showed good improvement across the board this year. A few strong stations helped carry the team, but there’s still plenty of room to sharpen up. Time to get back out to Sonny Harris’ shotgun range and put in some extra practice. We’re aiming higher in 2027!
Mike Raahauge’s continues to be a fantastic venue with its scenic trees, ponds, and challenging target presentations. The provided lunch of BBQ chicken with all the sides was a welcome break.
Overall, it was another great event with strong camaraderie and a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the cause.
WEGC – Keep swinging!
