Upper Range Training Videos
These training videos show members how to access the upper range when the 325-yd, 400-yd, and 500-yd pad is in use or if you are the first shooter. This is to establish a safety and radio communications protocol for 325-yd use and on Friday 500.
Friday 500
Friday 500 is something new that Range Master Chuck conceived that the club is piloting. This gives full members an opportunity to practice their long range precision shooting skills on the 400-yd pad OR 500-yd pad.
When Friday 500 is in use, the Upper Bays 101-103 are closed.
There are requirements for shooting on the upper rifle range pads.
During this pilot period the procedures will be a living exercise, constantly being evaluated, so expect changes to this protocol.
Safety is paramount.
Requirements for shooting on the 325-yd, 400-yd and 500-yd pad:
- Upper Range Training videos must be watched.
- Full Members must check in with Chuck at the Range Shack.
- Members are to have a radio with them, turned on and tuned to the range frequency (GMRS Ch 1). See. Range Radio Communications page. Radios can be checked out at the Range Shack if you do not have one.
- Members are to make periodic radio check-ins with Chuck declaring the Upper Rifle range hot or cold.
- Members are to listen for radio communications from other members wanting to come up the road.
- Only 1 of the 3 upper rifle range pads may be used at any one time.
- Flags at the shooting pads must be raised when in use and lowered when not in use.
- Members are to let Chuck know when they are finished occupying the shooting pad.
How members should enter the range. When RSOs are on duty.
