Dear Members,
It is with great disappointment and sadness that I write to you today. Recently, a member of our club acted in a way that violated both the trust and the honor that we hold dear at West End Gun Club. Despite clear rules, this member chose to use the upper range while it was closed and committed the following:
- Shot on the range while it was officially closed for construction
- Damaged unfinished targets and cinderblocks
- Left brass scattered on the upper pad, leaving behind clear evidence of their actions
The upper range project has been a major investment. The club, and our members, have paid a significant amount of money to build and improve this area. To see it disrespected and damaged before it is even completed is unacceptable.
At West End Gun Club, we work on the honor system. This kind of behavior is disheartening and erodes the trust that allows our club to function as a community. Every member should know better.
As a direct result of this reckless act, the project directors have decided to close the entire upper range until construction is finished. This means that shotgun operations and the three new bays will also remain closed to all members until the work is complete.
Our club is built on respect, responsibility, and accountability. We must be above reproach in how we conduct ourselves. I am deeply hurt that one of our own would disregard our rules, the hard work of our volunteers, and the investment of our membership.
Because of the actions of a few, now all of us must suffer the consequences. This is truly unfair to the majority of members who respect the rules and take pride in our club. But I ask you not to be discouraged. Let this be a reminder of how important it is for us to stand together, protect what we’ve built, and hold ourselves to the highest standard.
West End Gun Club is stronger than one person’s poor decision. Together, we will finish these projects, reopen the ranges, and continue to make our club the best it can be.
Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and your continued commitment to West End Gun Club.
Respectfully,
Thomas Tossonian
President

This has been fixed.
It is not, we just published an email with the new upper range hours. We will posting that on the website soon. I can change the title of this post so that it reflects better about what happened. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
This is dated August, it is now November. Is it still closed?
